Club Members and Award Winners in West Linn Old Tyme Parade

Soroptimist International of Lake Oswego/West Linn marched in the 59th West Linn Old Tyme Parade on Saturday, July 18, 2015. SoroptiMister Jeff Holmes provided his 1962 Catalina 2+2 powder blue muscle car to escort club members. The club invited Live Your Dream award winners, and community grant recipients to join us.

Maya Edelstein marched while representing Clackamas Women’s Services: For the past 30 years, Clackamas Women's Services has been dedicated to a vision of a violence-free society.  At their secure emergency shelter, their rural outreadh office, A Safe Place Family Justice Center, and Campe HOPE Oregon, CWS fosters the self-empowerment of survivors of domestic violence. 

Barbara Peschiera, Executive Director of The Children’s Center and club member marched with her club. Children’s Center is the only center serving children who are suspected victims of child abuse and neglect. It is the place where healing begins for these young victims. Children’s Center offers child sex abuse prevention programs designed to help adults stop abuse before it happens. If someone is concerned about the welfare of a child, Children’s Center can be a resource to help.
