Club members offer Dream It*Be It:Career Mentoring for Girls to WLV Arts Tech

On Tuesday, club members Gail Holmes, Linda Ramey and Pam Banning visited the Wilsonville Arts & Technology High School campus.  Working with Principal Saskia Dressler and counselors, the club introduced the opportunity running after school on campus between December 2016 and January 2017.  Soroptimist International offers a free curriculum for clubs provide to their communities.  Modules include

  • Discovering Your Dreams
  • Exploring Careers
  • Creating Achievable Goals
  • Rising Above Obstacles
  • Turning Failure Into Success
  • Balancing Your Stress
  • Putting Dreams Into Actions

Sessions are designed to be either in small mentoring groups or in large single day conference. Arts & Tech have decided on the more interpersonal small mentoring group contact. Community vendors are welcome to help offset the cost of printing material handouts and providing health snacks to attendees.  We will also be convening a panel of people to speak of their careers around mid-February 2017, dependent on the students' interests. Contact the club via email   silakeoswegowestlinn@soroptimist.net  with your interest.
